Process: Masks

This project was a reinterpretation of an object developed by Import Export, a Los Angeles based studio focused on handcrafted editions. The original piece, a bowl made from jade, draws from the material’s cultural significance within Chinese tradition.

My approach was to rework the object through form, material treatment, and presentation, exploring how its symbolic weight could be translated into a more abstract and contemporary expression.
